Examples of developing plans for the phases of preparing for and responding to these emergencies are: Developing CodeRed Protocols Developing plans that would allow all selectmen to coordinate the simultaneous passage of information from their town to all of the other selectmen on the island Developing methods of integrating non-municipal agencies into an island-wide disaster response planning process (Steamship Authority, MV Airport, MV Hospital, Assets available through the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army, the Wampanoag Tribe, R.M Packers Barging and Docking facilities, Comm Electric, Comcast, The Phone Company, WMVY, MVTV, MV High School, Chapman-Cole-Gleason Funereal Home, etc.) Examples of the planning for the recovery from a disaster Pre-disaster joint planning with FEMA and MEMA for the delivery of relief food, medicine and other supplies after the disaster Chemical Reporting Requirement In order to qualify as a recognized REPC by the state and entitlement to receive grants under the REPC authority, the REPC must also implement the following : Where applicable, the Community/Regional Committee shall identify locations where hazardous materials are stored, used, and transported. Bring representatives of municipal government, industry, health, universities, colleges and other interested organizations together to identify the hazards within the city Prepare for emergencies involving hazardous materials Establish a safe environment for the people of Marthas Vineyard Provide information to the citizens of the community on the chemical hazards at facilities and on the roadways of the municipality. These duties must include, but are not limited to the following: Establish a system for and subsequent procedures for: Receiving and processing emergency release reporting, Receiving and processing other required information and inventories from covered facilities, Receiving and processing requests from governmental officials or the public for information regarding chemical substances in their municipality the designation of an official to serve as a coordinator for information regarding chemical substances 2.
