Ezra Sherman, WMVY Item 1 - The minutes for the meeting of September 13th, 2005 were read and accepted as modified. Item 2 - Training Availability Handouts were distributed Item 3 Introduction of new member Spencer Booker (Aquinnah) was introduced OLD BUSINESS Item 4 - Guest Ezra Sherman WMVY Discussion Public Warning Announcements. Item 5 Multi Agency Coordination System (per NIMS IIA-1a) Judy Sibert Item 6 Resource sharing among the towns during disasters Item 7 Disaster Communications Plan (Dukes County Information Center The County representative distributed a handout of communications procedures that the County representative could implement during disasters. The Emergency managers will review the document over the next month and will decide which items that they wuld like to have information on and which items that they would like to share. The plan will be discussed at the next MVEMDA meeting. Item 8 Emergency Management Radio Frequency installation West Tisbury will bring their radio to Bardwell Chilmark will install their own Tisbury will install their own Edgartown already has the frequency Aquinnah will talk to Chief Dukes County already has the frequency Red Cross already has the frequency Item 9 Ecemp Do the town Emergency Managers need to do it ahnd what are the consequences of refusal Ecemp is planned for an evening or weekend Item 10 Bylaws and Meeting rules for MVEMDA members Rescheduled Item 11 Determine whether to develop a system, wherby, a single point of contact on the island would be available to the state for those instances where identical interrogatory information needs to be communicated back and forth between the state and multiple Emergency Management jurisdictions; The point of contact being only a conduit for information. (For example, setting up training dates for state run training.) The group agreed to the County proposal to handle non-emergency communication with state in accordance with the above statement, , wherby, the County Emergency Management representative would be available to the state as a single point of contact on the island for those instances where identical interrogatory information needs to be communicated back and forth between the state and multiple Emergency Management jurisdictions; The point of contact being only a conduit for information. Item 12 Avian Flu Discussion Item 13 Opportunity to bring up new business The Red Cross has run two courses (Mass Care, Shelter Operations). The will run a family Services curse and a Mental health course. There are now close to 50 Shelter Managers. Sharon Stevens-Grunden is a Certified Instructor. More training will be conducted after New Years. The Red Cross would like to have 25 shelter volunteers per shelter. The Red Cross will check on Operations under Quarantine situation. The Red Cross is still willing to go into schools and brief students on Emergency Procedures and Self Sufficiency.
