Emergency Management Agency, Framingham, Ma. by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Boston,Ma. as Liaison for the purposes of coordinating activities between the two agencies for Air Operations involving fixed wing or helicopters from Westover Air Force Base. Also assisted the Director of Operations with certain projects (i.e.: Air Search & Rescue, Air Crash Plans, Military Supplies, etc.)

Duties included coordinating unit moves of the FEMA Disaster Response Team during Natural Disasters by C5 Galaxy aircraft at Westover AFB, Ma. (i.e.: Hurricane Andrew, Hurricane Inneki, etc). Jan 92-Jan 95 Held Position as Chemical, Biological, & Nuclear Superintendent. Duties in this position require identification and mitigation of chemical, biological, and radiation threats in combat or peacetime situations. Situations may be deliberate or accidental. Additionally, the skill level of Superintendent requires the management of the threat and the personnel and equipment to contain and mitigate the threat.

 

Aug 90-Aug 91 337 Mas, Westover AFB, Ma. Activated for Persian Gulf War. Duties as primary (in charge) Loadmaster on C5 Galaxy Aircraft required complete understanding of the systems of the aircraft, loading limits, weight & balance, Hazardous Materials compatibility, and the requirements for safety of crew and passengers. Additionally, because of the war situation, additional precautions had to be taken into account such as Chemical & Biological threats, Terrorism, etc. As Primary Loadmaster, additional management responsibilities were required to maintain the overall safety of the aircraft, cargo, crew, & passengers.
